Not much new going on in the life and times of Alyssa, but I do have some exciting updates!

I have been accepted into an Art Walk for August! It's the 22nd on the Landing. Right now I'm working on a few arrowheads and throwing bowls/cups/jars/ect... like a mad potter to get a bunch ready to sell.

This weekend my cousin is raising money for Teddy the Yorkie who needed surgery recently. She'll be making dog collars and leashes, but will aslo be making a poster. The poster will have pics of dog-bowls that I have made as well as my arrowheads. Half of the proceeds will be going to the Teddford Foundation for lil' Teddy, the other half to help me pay for the materials used. Hopefully some stuff sells.

I have started my own website! Best Wulf Works. Right now it's a free trail, but it's pretty cheap per month. Hopefully I get a job soon and can update from the free trail version. Here's the link, check it out! Let me know what you think!

Another exciting event. I got my first commission the other day to make two lidded jars! And I was asked to make a bunch of bottles to sell as water bottle at a rally thing. Not sure about all the details, but it has to do with the plastic ones and stuff. A gal in the studio has a shop and wants to sell some of my stuff in it. She adds 25% to the artist's price, so I'll lower my prices a little for the ones going in her shop. The ones I'm selling on my own I think I'll keep at normal price. It'll still be less expensive than if in a shop, but a little more for me. Starving artists nees to eat too!

All in all, I think I'm on my way. Potters are well known in the area, but in the clay community news spreads. I think anyways...Who knows, maybe one day I'll have my own studio and support myself with nothing but my art. Until then I'm aiming to either teach ceramics or work in a studio as a technician (fire kilns, keep the place clean, mix glazes, ect...). I'm hoping for the second one more than anything. Just gotta keep with it.
